Our Beavers learned how to safely get on and off a skateboard, how to gently push off, and how to position their feet correctly. Many of them even mastered the impressive “pancake flip”! 🙌🛹

They’re 6 and 15 so not it’s often they enjoy spending time doing to same thing but they came home raving about how good it was and asking when they can go again.

Ricky & his team were super welcoming to them and they got loads of support and guidance. They both made loads of progress in just the one day, wish I’d known about it at the start of the summer as they’d have been pros by now!

Would definitely recommend to anyone with a child of any age who wants to learn.

Such an amazing atmosphere seeing all the children get along and help each other and the teachers are amazing and patient and really help the kids and seem to really enjoy what they do. He absolutely loves his lessons and it has been a lifeline for him. Skateboarding is an outlet for him and has given him new skills both on the board and socially. As a parent of a neurodivergent child it can be incredibly hard to find clubs where they are fully accepted and embraced. Rick adapts his teaching style to get the best out of the children. He has a relaxed teaching approach, knowing when to push and challenge the kids and when they need space to just be. My son has developed some awesome skateboarding skills, made great friends and found a place where he feels he fits in. Gnarwhal has given him a place to feel safe to be himself and Rick’s understanding and gentle guidance has helped him to flourish. I would 100% recommend gnarwhal to anyone wanting to learn to skateboard but also looking for a community that accepts children for who they are and celebrates them.
