got questions?

EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW BEFORE YOU ROLL.

Getting Started

Nope! Our lessons are designed for everyone—from total beginners to those looking to sharpen their skills.

Our Sunday Skate Club welcomes children aged 5 and over.

Private skateboarding lessons have no fixed minimum age, as coaching is adapted to the individual. We’ll discuss younger children’s needs and readiness before arranging a session.

Adults are welcome too! We offer coaching for beginners and developing skaters of different ages and abilities.

Getting started is easy! Simply complete our Request a Lesson form and tell us which session you’re interested in.

We’ll get back to you to discuss availability, suitable locations and the next steps.

Your place isn’t confirmed until we’ve replied and agreed the booking details.

Progress & Skills

Everyone progresses at their own pace. Some pick up the basics in a few lessons; others take longer—but the important part is having fun!

We start with the basics to build confidence and safety skills. As students progress, we introduce tricks and advanced techniques in a structured, safe way.

Equipment & Safety

Absolutely! We have a fleet of skateboards and safety gear ready to lend, so you can jump right in.

Yes! Helmets are compulsory for all children taking part in our coached skateboarding sessions.

For adults, helmets are strongly recommended.

Safety is a priority at Gnarwhal, and we have helmets and protective equipment available for anyone who needs to borrow them.

Yes! Pads help prevent scrapes and bruises, and we can lend them to beginners. Safety first!

Classes & Scheduling

Our private skateboarding lessons last one hour, with coaching tailored to each individual.

Sunday Skate Club runs for two hours, from 10am to 12pm every Sunday.

Both sessions are designed to give skaters plenty of time to learn, practise and have fun!

If conditions aren’t safe, lessons will be cancelled and rearranged. Safety comes first!

No problem! Just give us advance notice, and we’ll find a convenient time to reschedule.
